Alex Russell

Based in Washington, DC, Alex Russell currently works for a non-profit organization focused on democratic development in the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to working in Washington, he served as a visiting demonstrator in English language and literature at the Universities of Alexandria and Mansoura while on a Fulbright scholarship in Egypt. Alex has studied French, Persian, and Arabic and was a recipient of the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship in Morocco. His research interests include electoral system design and management, democratic transitions, and good governance and transparency. Alex graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Middle Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Northwestern University.
