Amelia Burke is currently researching smallstock grazing and herding systems in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. She earned her BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Smith College, where she minored in Environmental Science and Policy, focusing on agricultural policy. She has worked on farms in Turkey, Italy, and the Balkans, as well as with NGOs in Palestine, Morocco and Zimbabwe. Her interests include the use of agriculture in political rhetoric, modern pastoralist communities, and sociolinguistics.
