Evelyn Anne Crunden’s interests are centered in minority politics, health, immigration, and progressive movements, as well as Judaeo and Islamic cultures. She has spent time in many parts of Europe as well as Morocco, Turkey, and Pakistan, and runs a weekly world news blog and newsletter, The Blues & the News.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Evelyn graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Government & Anthropology and a focus on international studies. She later undertook an M.A. in nonfiction writing at the Johns Hopkins University.
