Hanif is currently a writer and analyst of Iranian affairs, and recently worked as a consultant for the Middle East Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and was the author of the Center’s Iran Election Update. Prior to this, Hanif served as a research assistant for visiting scholars as well as a staff assistant at the Center. Based in Washington, D.C., Hanif is a contributing writer at IranWire, has studied Persian in both Tajikistan and Iran, and has taught English at the university level in Iran.
