Isaac Paul Miller’s interest in the Middle Eastern politics and history began while taking part in activism around the Iraq War at Kent State University. He studied Arabic at the Qasid Arabic Institute in Jordan from 2011 to 2012 and received his Masters degree in Middle East Studies from the American University inCairo in 2015. His research interests include political economy, the connection between financial systems and states, the economic history of the Middle East, and nineteenth and twentieth century Egyptian history.
