Lavinia Filippi is an Italian art historian and contemporary art critic. She currently writes for several international art magazines including Flash Art, ArteIn, Artribune and Art Now Pakistan. In the past three years she has been based in Islamabad, were she has specialized in Pakistani contemporary art. She has also collaborated with the National College of Arts both the Rawalpindi and Lahore campus as Visiting Associate Professor.
Previously, Lavinia Filippi served for three years as the Director of the International Gallery LipanjePuntin in Rome after having worked in New York as Studio Assistant and correspondent for several Italian Art publications and for the American on-line magazine artnet.com.
She also curated a number of art shows in private galleries and museums both in Italy and Pakistan; the latest one being “I.D.”, the contemporary group show around the concept of identity, for the 2nd edition of the Islamabad Literature Festival.
