Maryam Laly is from Kabul, Afghanistan and a recent graduate of St. Lawrence University. She finished her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Government and minors in Peace Studies and Arabic. She completed her undergraduate honors project on the Women’s Rights Movement in Afghanistan and the shortage of scholarship and challenges of practice. She is passionate about human rights-especially focusing on women’s and minority rights and hopes to pursue a PhD program in the near future.
