Nima Shirazi @WideAsleepNima

Nima Shirazi is editor-at-large at Muftah and served as the magazine’s Iran, Iraq and Turkey editor from March 2013 to October 2018. Nima is a communications strategist, political analyst, and media critic. His writing has appeared in Salon, Truthout, Mic, Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) and Al Jazeera, among other outlets. He is a member of the Gulf/2000 Project, an academic forum and online resource service sponsored by the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and co-hosts the podcast Citations Needed. Nima is a native New Yorker, an Oberlin College graduate, and has played drums in a number of extremely underappreciated rock bands.
