In Gaza, as in most wars, women are bearing a huge burden. Many families have had to abandon their homes with only the clothes on their backs. Lacking food, water, and needed supplies, and living with other families in cramped quarters, women must also remain covered day and night, suffering in the heat of Gaza.
ANERA (American Near East Refugee Aid) is delivering “dignity kits,” which provide much needed items and some measure of dignity for women traumatized by the conflict. The kits include a new robe/abaya, headscarf/hijab, flip flops (many lost their shoes while fleeing), undergarments, wet wipes, sanitary napkins, toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, bar soap, hand towel, toilet paper, and body powder or spray.
You can help restore a small measure of comfort and dignity to women traumatized by the crisis in Gaza. Send them dignity kits filled with much-needed personal items:
An abaya (robe)
A hijab (head scarf)
A hand towel
An assortment of other toiletries
