Shurooq Amin is not one to shy away from controversial topics. Throughout her artistic career, Shurooq has produced creative works that push the bounds of social norms and challenge prejudices inside and outside the Arab world.

In her latest series, Shurooq takes inspiration from literature, film, and other works of art to confront all things taboo in Middle Eastern culture and to inspire the viewer to face his or her socially-imposed fears. To learn more about Shurooq’s work, please see Popcornographic: In My Own Words.
