At the age of twenty-five, Maryam Sabbaghpour is singularly dedicated to her work as an artist. A graduate of the prestigious University of Art in Tehran, Sabbaghpour creates drawings and paintings that capture physical expressions of human feelings and emotions. The images she produces have a strange sort of intensity and three-dimensional quality that both grabs and holds a viewer’s attention.
Sabbaghpour’s work has been featured in a number of Tehran’s most well-respected galleries, including Homa Art Gallery and Shirin Art Gallery. Most recently, Sabbaghpour was part of Shirin Gallery’s “New Generation” art exhibit, which featured the work of some of Iran’s most promising artists under the age of thirty.
Sabbaghpour is a testament to the vibrancy and innovation found in Iran’s artistic community. A selection of her work appears below.
